House Web Space

Summary

ICC has a brief page about each house on its website, and each house also has its OWN website. Each house as a whole is responsible for determining and maintaining the content of its site, though it can delegate its responsibility to committee or to an individual (such as the Trustee or another motivated house member).

In addition, there are special areas of the website that Coordinators to post to.

Important! Do not put unscripted email addresses on your website because spammers will get them. (see more info below)

How do we log in to our webspace?

The server is iccaustin.coop. Your username is your house name or a variant (arrakis, avaloon, frenchie, helios, hoc, newguild, royalite, or seneca). Get your password from the trustee, or from the Member Relations Administrator in the ICC office.

The usernames for coordinators are: boardofd, news, events, houseops. The password is available from the Member Relations Administrator or the Board Coordinator.

The login is:

  • Server: iccaustin.coop
  • Username: (see above)
  • Password: (see above)
  • Directory/Remote Folder: (leave blank)
How do we create a web page and upload it?

There's a member workstation in the ICC office where you can use Claris HomePage to create and upload your pages. HomePage contains built-in help. Office staff can give you a little help, but not much.

Do you have any IMPORTANT TIPS for us?

Yes! Never put members' email addresses on your website, because spambots automatically harvest email addresses from web pages and add them to spam mailing lists.

What if there's something wrong about our house on ICC's page about our house?
Notify the Media Committee, which oversees ICC's website.
